Holy Moly you guys! Today’s episode had me on the edge of my seat and just SO Joyful on how God does so much within his daughters and sons that ignites fires in other people because He’s blowing on embers and if you get close enough there is no way you can’t catch fire!
And today, with Ashton Cantu, our guest, she just lit me up. I left on such a high and I was so grateful I started my day that way. You guys, she came from a place of pain. And you’ve heard it said before that God will use your pain for purpose. And she doesn’t like tag lines or catch-phrase but this is exactly what He’s done in her life and just like He’s done in mine, just like He’s done in so many other women who walk in purpose…knowing that their identity is not based in the place of pain or the story line of their history, but instead in the identity of our Father.
She talks all around what it is that she walked through and how ultimately it was the fall, the pit, the place (actually happened multiple times) multiple rock bottoms, that she realized Jesus shows up for her. And He just continued to offer promotion after promotion after promotion in her life both personally and professionally, which you’ll get to hear all about her entrepreneurial journey and how that became to be.
She has two things she wants us to take away, but honestly there are 1000 things. But two things you’re about to have goods on is:
- To dismantle the lies. The lies that have been cultivated time and time again in our own lives form deep roots and things that ultimately shouldn’t be there. She’s going to tell you how she got past them and how you can too.
- Creating community and doing this thing, this walk, this life, this purpose drive joy-filled life with others and just like God is a community cultivator and lover, Kingdom maker…that’s the whole reason He didn’t just leave Adam alone to roam the earth. Even in His animals and plants and everything that exists…so to know that there is a support system and you don’t have to do this thing alone. So Ashton and I have partnered in that process to just be here and walk this out with you.
You can do this with, through and by Him. You can establish your business with His roots and His identity and how you will flourish in submission. And you will flourish by accepting His love, but also learning to give it.

This podcast was so fun. I discovered a pseudo replica of myself that lives on the other side of the United States . Like twins separated at birth and now our paths are being led back to a beautiful place outside of the country.

Woot woot who doesn’t love a Glow getters? It’s the whole reason this show exists. Y’all light is foundational...I could go on an entire rant right now about this…God made light…you know the shtick, but did you also know that when we were conceived the reaction within us actually causes a microscopic light?! Ah I just love this and totally why I wanted to start this episode sharing about the light that’s emitted through all of us every single day…
Cammie Petty Palmer, today’s lovely mama multi-preneur. Ohh I like the way that sounds…I might have to pick that up in my bio. SHE IS A GLOW GETTER - a light chaser. Anyway, she Stared out in 2010 with a wedding planning business and Then shortly after, she pivoted, before pivoting was a coined Covid term, into developing a creative rental business. During that development she hit a rough patch in her personal life - don’t you love a good reminder that God’s blessings exist RIGHT THERE in the mist of what we think is impossible and hard.
I’ll let you hear the full story of Cammie’s hardship, but for quick dissection, it deals with abuse, divorce, consideration of abortion, a solo-parenting journey, newly dating as a mom, and warning signs on your body. Meanwhile, she started turning her side hustle businesses into a full time business instead of working for others. It goes to show that what you may see on the outside isn’t always what’s happening on the inside. So please give others grace.
Cammie was a breath of fresh air and truly dove deep. I’ll be honest, I was caught off guard because we had worked together professionally previously. Again…don’t just a book by its cover y’all.
Cammie, I’m amazed that all you’ve been able to cultivate and grateful to have that time of dissection and development with you and keeping connected to WHO And WHOSE we are, and letting go of the hustle and owning the joys of operating within our passion through the passion giver.

But she took everything that she’s done in the past and she put it on a plate and she said “ooh this looks yummy” and she took advantage of it and she started to eat. Y’all we could sit and look at the meal and hope and pray its delicious, but if you never take the first bite, what’s the point right? Why even sit down at the table?
Yet, God invites you to sit down at every table he communes with and he wants you to enjoy the nourishment of the calling. So I hope you feel called and pulled just the way she has been formulating her own thing. So a little tid bit of info about me…I was recognized as “best dressed” for my senior superlative in college. If I remember anything about my child, I can often remember exactly what I was wearing. I have always loved fashion and styling clothes. Years later when I ventured to Atlanta Market for my retail brick and mortar, I was in heaven dreaming up what my one day clothing line would look like.
Now instead of honing in solely on the FASHIONISTA side of me, Jesus said, I’ll use that for good instead of any vanity, but let’s focus more on the PASSIONISTA side of things!
So much goodness and sweetness here. I have no doubt, Maria’s heart and expertise, will swoon you as she did me. Not to mention the journey God has her on to get where she is today is truly my heart beat for women experiencing unique IDENTITY in their purpose pursuits!
And today was like a giddy dream come true when I got to chat with style and capsule wardrobe expert, Maria Swann, because we blended His heart with our fashion sense. It was SO much fun and she is a TRUE gem. She’s gifting GODfidence through her help in giving you freedom and thrill in getting dressed rather than overwhelm or frustration.

An East Coast Girl... I grew up as an only child in Massachusetts where I studied piano, dance, and singing, but I also played soccer. Growing up with musical parents, I loved music and the arts. I was surrounded by it. I always had a passion for helping others, being a leader and organizing; whether it was my trapper-keeper growing up or my NYC apartment. I am also a thrill seeker like skydiving, zip lining and roller coasters.

Dance into Your God Dream with Joel Casanova
Just thinking about today’s guest, I immediately wanted to dance, because he’s an inspirer and a supernova when it comes to dancing and moving his body in a way that I didn’t know was possible. He looks like a combination of gumby meets a Disney princess meet the best Chris Brown and Michael Jackson impersonation you could imagine. Not only do you have to hear him speak today, you have to go check out all of his experiences online via Youtube, Instagram or wherever!
He has been on a stage as a performing artist. He has his own dance company called Beat Hunter Dance and is also my son’s dance coach, even through Covid. But his connection with Jesus supersedes all of the goodness. It’s in his logo, his heart, and his voice and truly Jesus proceeds him when he walks into a room.
I was honored and touched by our time with diving deeper into the calling into His life and the activation which he has propelled by saying yes to his God dream. The same type of God dream that you too may have stewing and brewing within you.
You know I have launched the God Dream design Course: a high touch experience of discovering yourself and Him within you, just as Joel has discovered himself through Jesus, life experiences and dance.
It’s a healing journey and dance has such a power beyond most. I hope you treasure today’s insight just as I did.
Joel Casanova’s Bio:
Joél Casanova was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Dallas, TX. He started dancing HipHop at 11 years old and for the next 5 years danced on competition teams. By the age of 16, he was choreographing professionally. Joél move to Virginia Beach at 18 years old, where he pursed a BA in Journalism, was staffed at Academie de Ballet, and performed in theatrical dance productions with Masterworks USA. In addition, he received training in Ballet and Modern from Mr. Elbert Watson. Joél Casanova created and founded BeatHunter Dance, a headquarters for dance innovation, at age 20. At the same time, he wrote the Personal Kinetic Curriculum, which develops the personal style of dancers. Joél is a young dance professional with a deep passion for dance performance and instruction as well as writing and choreographing original dance productions.
