Finding God in Our Pain with Sherrie Pilkington
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
Thursday Dec 17, 2020
Before every podcast, I pray that God will use it for His purposes. This podcast with Sherrie Pilkington needs to be soaked in. It is so prevalent when God shows up, and I was overwhelmed with so much emotion during many parts of today's guest testimony sharing. Sherrie is a sweetheart, really. She is a friend and somebody who has a testimony - not unlike you, but uniquely hers. The part that I love most is that she relates to everyone in a beautiful way through the pain.
And ultimately, isn't that an easy way for us as humans to connect? In the emotion of hardship, in the emotion of grieving, in the emotion of loss? Of not understanding God all the time? Of worry? Of overwhelm? Of apathy? Of so many things that come alongside her in brokenness? And yet, at the same time, realizing the ever-evolving, ever-present love of our Father and how good He is. Even in the pain.
That is Sherrie's podcast name - Finding God In Our Pain. It's the call of her life to live a life of "thrive" and help others learn that we, too, have access to that process. We all have access to that unlock, and she does an incredible job of sharing that.
So I hope that you sense His presence today. I hope you, too, are drawn in by her storyline and her perspective, and the vision that God was gifting me during the episode. You guys, it's so interesting to stand alongside people. And we need to do it more often.
Today, I hope you realize the power of being with people in their pain, and you take something away. Even if you are sitting with just yourself today, I hope you understand that God is with you all the more. It's OK to ask hard questions. It's OK to wonder. It's OK not to know. But I hope that you find a knowing that you didn't know before you arrived through this episode. Guys, be blessed, know I love you. You know that this podcast blesses me every single time. And my prayer is that it blesses you, too. And I know I say that all the time, but it's like every time there's an evolving story, and ultimately His love is what exists in the weaving of every single person.
Guest Bio
Widowed in early 2018 after 32 years of marriage, her whole world was shaken to the core of her existence. Life no longer made sense to her and she needed answers and needed to know she was not alone.
In the midst of her continued healing, her sons, daughters-in-law, and beautiful grandchildren brought her the fresh water of joy. But she also found special comfort and encouragement in the stories of other women who have endured the devastation of life-shattering events and can testify to the beauty of Christ meeting them in their despair.
As she has lived through this journey, she discovered this truth: we are never alone, as God does not hesitate to enter into our pain with us. He speaks the most beautiful things in the dark.

Being Kinder to Yourself with Eli Weinstein
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
I simply love connecting with people that I don't fully know their entire storyline. Last year with the Fit in Faith podcast, I only interviewed people that I knew, that I trusted, that I was able to even have in person. And before COVID, thank you, Jesus, for the idea, I felt going into 2020 I wanted to interview people from around the globe and it has just opened my eyes to so much. It gave me the opportunity to see how other people are activating and their own version of illumination, as well as how their faith is presented in their life and in their storyline, and all of the different components of their health.
Today's guest, Eli Weinstein, is an incredible man of God, an incredible man of wisdom, an incredible man of just knowledge and intellect and also heart. And I love that he's a real guy. He's a therapist, and so often you think "doctor." And yet his podcast is called The Dude Therapist, which makes him so relatable. He is a new dad, a husband, and a public speaker. And he just has so many well-rounded pieces of who he is.
And in this episode, he shares a lot about how that was developed and what personality traits led him to the career path that he has today. We talked a lot about emotional intelligence, which is something I'm currently learning a lot about and something he knows a lot about. So it was neat to hear his perspective as well. And so I would just encourage you if you are looking to just establish, maybe re-establish your mental health, your understanding of self, of others and the environment, this is an incredible podcast to round out your 2020 and give you fresh perspective, fresh desire to step in to this next season with just hope and grace for other people. And so I am so grateful for him to be on the show. He's got Elivation and I'll tag all of his stuff here. But you've got to tune in to what he's got going on.
Guest Bio:
Eli is a Social Work therapist who has worked in a psych hospital, intense outpatient clinic and currently works in a community clinic in queens. He created ELIvation to fill a need to help those in struggling times and add extra inspiration and motivation into everyday life. Eli has been featured on Kelly Clarkson show, IVF Warrior, Fruitful, Breaking Taboo and on multiple podcasts ranging from parenting, relationships, mental health, and infertility.
His main goal is to help people on their journey to add support, care, empathy, expertise, and insight. He runs events, seminars, and individual coaching on topics from mental health awareness, public speaking coaching, relationship coaching, and confidence-boosting.

The High Call to Serve Well with Vince Del Monte

Thursday Dec 03, 2020
What do they all have In common?
Muscle
Mindset
Money
Mission
Marriage
They all have Vince Del Monte in common.
While his journey started in the muscle category, it’s clear he’s put more energy into his spiritual mission, along with stamina, than anything else. This is how he’s established the mindset, money, and even marital strength in his life.
We unpack how he got started, the growth he’s seen, and we get real and raw in talking about being a Christian in today’s secular entrepreneurial world and our high call to serve well and stand up and showcase the abundance of our Father.
Near the end of the show, good ole Vinny even flipped the script and started asking me questions about the current temperature of the world and my perspectives and convictions on how to be an anchor when emotions are at their highest.

Being Real in a World Full of Fakes with Sam Acho
Thursday Nov 26, 2020
Thursday Nov 26, 2020
Let me clue you in on something real quick. Business tip, OK? I teach this thing called stacking. And what I mean from that in a business sense is that you stack one on top of another, on top of another of the thing that you're already gifted in, you're already using, you've already developed your repurposing and recycling in order to provide value. OK, I just realized the unlock between my professional coaching and this beautiful podcast that has just emerged over the last two years and how there is a stacking happening.
There is a compounding effect that is taking place by the voices that are creating Kingdom Impact. And I am honored to sit alongside Sam Acho today and just unpack what it means to be real in a world full of fakes. And you guys, he just released a book that I am currently just diving into every minute that I get on Audible, and it's called Let the World See You. And being real in a world full of fakes is the tag line.
And it is so incredibly powerful. I feel like when we shared in this podcast that we both were people who have just hid in plain sight in our life. He was an NFL player for the Bears and the Cardinals and a public speaker and a humanitarian. You get to learn so much more about him. You have to tune in to this episode, because the ultimate thing that I know that you're going to take away and that I hope that you take away and I pray that you are going to take away.
But I know that I know that I know that you are going to take away is that you two can remove your mask and maybe that mask looks like the inner child. Maybe that mask looks like shame. Maybe that mask looks like guilt. Maybe that mask, like me and Sam looks like a smile. And we have deeper masks, too, that we talk about in this episode. So please know that this is your time to rise and be real.

Sam Acho is an NFL player, writer, public speaker, and humanitarian. He speaks widely at colleges, events, conferences, and churches, and is the cohost of The Home Team Podcast. Learn to Thrive Instead of Survive with Charles Clark
Thursday Nov 19, 2020
Thursday Nov 19, 2020
The concept of thrive probably means something different to everyone. What is that thriving state to you? Does the word flow mean more? Does it make sense? But I feel like flow is missing this energy, this incredible electric opportunity, this purposed calling, and each and every one of us are intended to thrive. It's actually a part of our DNA. So says today's conversationalist, Charles Clark. He is somebody that I can't wait to introduce you to that I know is just going to create impact in your own life and really reveal this unique calling within you to thrive.
And we each are gifted that and at the end of this year of 2020 to close out in this way just speaks volumes for God, because ultimately I couldn't plan this. I had no idea that we were going to do this podcast when we did. And it's just really refreshing to know that in the opportunity of thriving, which Charles has a Thrive Planner that he's created. He's about to launch his Thrive Journal. He has The Thrive Tribe podcast. He offers Thrive Conferences and retreats and all things "thrive."
You have to unpack what that means and understand that when he comes to speak, he comes with fury. And that fury is the fire within him based on the knowing of who created him and you, too, have this beautiful opportunity to do it, to live life on purpose and just ultimately establish confidence in that space so you can activate every single day.
Guest Bio
Charles Clark, the creator of the Thrive Planner and the Thrive Tribe Podcast, is an expert in habit improvement, discovering purpose, vision creating and goal setting. After he became the 6th fastest man in the world, a devastating injury left him searching for his identity. Charles developed techniques that brought clarity to his life’s purpose while establishing massive confidence.

Fear Is a Liar with Trevor Tyson
Thursday Nov 12, 2020
Thursday Nov 12, 2020
I love vulnerability. I love transparency. I talk about it all the time, but today's talk was next level. It went into that real talk concept that really dives deep into your soul and spirit, and causes transformation. And so I'm excited to introduce you to today's guest. His name is Trevor, and you've got to go find him. He has his own podcast called Trevor Talks, and I love that he is just hosting and owning his release. The release of his palms and the things that God has gifted him, his release of his arms in just embracing others and the release even of his finances and his understanding of entrepreneurship, which I love that he jumped into because, you know, I love the goods of that as well. So just really owning confidence. And he teaches us how to do that, even after combating his own walk with anxiety and depression and really identifying what was holding him in that pattern - the enemy's lies.
There are so many different types of podcasts and books and conversations around the enemy lies at this point. But he takes it to another level. He takes it to the level of a brand to say and own and wear both on a hat and a shirt. But in our actual branded heart, that fear is a liar. And knowing that that is not an identity factor and who we are, God doesn't say that over top of us.
And so really in this season, just establishing that truth. I stand with Trevor in inviting the enemy and knowing that the strongholds really do exist and bind us in our minds first. And so he is an advocate and a proponent for mental health in breaking anxiety and breaking depression, but so much more than that and just standing in ownership of who God says that we are. And so he is an entrepreneur with a kingdom mission. And today we directly talk about identity and we address fear in a few ways that I want you to notate - one being raising your hand in awareness that this is something you're walking through, that this is something you're battling with. Two is seeking help.
I love that he had that white flag moment and he actually sought that help. That's something that you can actively do by even just connecting with people like Trevor and I, and so we can be a resource in that process. Three is to speak it out, say its truth, tell it real talk. Right? This is the entire point of TrevorTalks. Four is proclaiming your thumbprint and your message, realizing that once you can break free of the enemy's lies, you actually get to find out who God truly says you are.
You get to use that thumbprint to create and claim your message, which he is going to do later this year. So you have to tune in to what that announcement is and what exactly he's going to be opening up and rebranding for us to own ourselves. And then, lastly, is to just get behind the mission, whether it's your own entrepreneurial spirit or you're getting behind the entrepreneurial spirit of another and serving in your unique gifts and talents for such a time as this, you guys. Like right now, you are so purposed. And so I hope that this message blesses you. I hope that you get to know Trevor on a deeper level than just the social media outlets and realize that this mission to talk, to speak, to share, to be open-armed and open-minded in what it is that God has a say over our lives versus what the enemy so often tries to control that you would know and claim to just as much as I have before, but even more so after this conversation, that fear is a liar.
Trevor's Bio:
Trevor Tyson is a 23-year-old from Social Circle, Georgia. Trevor is living his life with a mission set on helping people empower themselves and overcome the hardships in their life. At the age of 17, Trevor went through a season of depression and anxiety and it changed his perspective. The fact that someone's mind can actually affect their everyday life in such a negative way changed his outlook on mental health and started his journey to recovery. After receiving therapy and going deep into his faith He finally found his voice and his message, which is, Fear doesn't own you, anxiety doesn't hold you, and that you CAN overcome your hardships with the right mindset and a set path to follow. Trevor shares his message through blogging, making motivational videos, speaking at live concert events, and lives his message out as his lifestyle.
He is the founder of Fear is a Liar Co., a mental health based clothing brand, an ambassador for Anthem of Hope and the host of Trevor Talks Podcast.

Thursday Nov 05, 2020
You know what I love about this show, I love, I love so many things, really, but the power of community that's just on display and the realization that we do not have to stand in a place of competition, especially with our sisters, that instead we should lean into each other, learn from each other and how we can all stand in the ultimate God vision, which is truly the ultimate God dream of just having a united, loving kingdom here on Earth as it is in heaven.
And so today I had the idea of sharing a bonus episode with you, which I'm really excited about because I had the joy of joining my girlfriend, Chavon, who was on a recent podcast. You have to check everything there is to know about her. You will love the power within her. But I was on her show, The Power and Grace Leaders podcast. So if you haven't already gotten to know her based on the previous episode, go and check out her Power and Grace Leaders Podcast.
It's incredible. It's uplifting. But since I'm usually the one in the interview seat, it was nice to be the interviewee for a change. And I was on fire this specific night. I was just lighting up the mic with some overwhelming spirit and energy and light.
And you actually hear me talk about the light in the middle of it because it crashed and burned in the middle of my show. It fell literally on the floor. And I was just like, you know what, let's keep going. And so we did. We kept pushing forward. And I just wanted to share it with you because I talk about all of the reasons that I birthed Fit and Faith and really the birthing process that God took me on in that process through the name, through the book cultivation, through ultimately what I believe is a movement.
And so thank you for being on the journey. Thank you for being along with this movement. And these are the things that I really go into - showcasing alignment, showcasing truth in the testimony, showcasing light in the dark and grit in calling, and ultimately mission and vision. So enjoy. Tune in. And no matter where you are, I hope that you know that in all of this, my ultimate heart beyond that God dream of love is that H withe gets the fame, and He gets the glory, and He has the final say.
So I hope you enjoy hearing me on the hot seat for a change, and I'd love to hear what you think. So please subscribe and review. I'm actually doing a free coaching business plan development for people who subscribe and review in the month of November.

White Flag Moments to formulate White Paper Dreams - With Dave Hollis
Thursday Oct 29, 2020
Thursday Oct 29, 2020
Conversation Points You DON'T Want to Miss:
- Self Identity & Self Reflection during pain and valleys
- God's role in our becoming process
- CORE Values and how to activate in new seasons around these
- Benefits of Therapy
- Alignment of Physical, Spiritual, Emotional and Relationship
- Parenting 4 Kiddos - Resources for them to understand TRUTH before the world teaches them lies.
- Development of Gifting and Purpose for creating impact, sharing light, and unlocking potential in others.
- Beauty that comes in change
- Sailing into new Seasons - reference to Ben Rector's Sailboat song
INTRO:
OK, so I could jump into this conversation in so many different incredible takeaways, but I think one of the parts that really touched me was realizing that we all get out of bed and put our pants on the exact same way. Well, maybe not when I was nine months pregnant and needed help in that process. But beyond that, I was so honored to have just a real vulnerable conversation about personal things - mind, body, emotions, spirit, soul, health, wealth, business, fitness, faith, Jesus, community.
I mean, the list goes on, you guys. Dave Hollis is an A-list. He's is... I'm trying to think of an analogy that goes with baseball because he's a baseball fan and he coaches, and he loves his kiddos. Let's just say he is someone you would want to invite to your own Tea Party, your own teatime. He's got his Tea Time with Noah. You're going to learn more about that when you tune in as well.
But I am just honored, honestly, to have the conversation, to enjoy it alongside each of you and the community members who showed up live.
And if you're tuning in now for the podcast version, the Audible, just I hope you sense the energy. And more than anything, I hope you leave hearing the power that God has within our lives, even in the valleys, even on the mountaintops or in this conversation, even in the storm, in the sailboat, stepping out of the sailboat. Wherever we find you, I think Dave would partner with me in this prayer to know that you are going the right direction when you're waving the white flag, submitting your life before our Father who can cultivate and make all things new.
Dave, I thank you so much for coming on, and I can't wait for the listeners to gain wisdom and light from your time with us. All right, let's go.

His Book - Get out of Your Own Way
Reviews from his book:
“In Get Out of Your Own Way, my friend Dave has identified an important truth: believing certain lies about ourselves keeps us skeptical that we can ever change the trajectory of our lives. Thank goodness in this great book Dave also shares with us the tools that helped him change his own life so you can change yours too.”
JOHN C. MAXWELL, NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR AND LEADERSHIP EXPERT
“In this life-transforming book, Dave Hollis inspires us to take a good hard look at the lies we tell ourselves and flip them into reasons for real growth. It’s a witty, vulnerable, and truly thought-provoking work from a skeptic who became brave enough to change. A must-read in personal development.”
